Mallory Hill Country Club

The Villages expressed their utmost respect in January 2012, when Down To Earth Golf was awarded the golf maintenance responsibilities of the 27-hole championship course, Mallory Hill. The maintenance of the course was previously being outsourced to another company when Down To Earth acquired the contract for Mallory Hill. There were several poor maintenance practices from the prior outsourced company that needed to be corrected. The Mallory Hill Golf Maintenance Team had their work cut out for them, but they were able to successfully bring the course back to The Villages’ high expectations. Down To Earth’s ‘Golf Detail Crew,’ an additional crew that travels to each course on a rotating schedule, helped get the course in tip-top shape. Today, the course is in great playing conditions and we look forward to continuing to build our relationship with The Villages by exemplifying our value through our work.

The Mallory Hill Clubhouse overlooks 18 of the 27 holes from one of the highest points in Sumter County. The ever-changing elevation will be sure to give you a different kind of golf experience. The historic area of tee box #7 on The Caroline, is The Villages own version of the fabled “Amen Corner”. The tee is adjacent to one of the oldest cemeteries in the county, rumored to be the final resting place of many of our earliest settlers.  The older translation of the name Mallory is “unlucky” or “misfortunate,” so be very cautious while playing the sprawling valley known as The Virginia, which is located on acreage once known for its watermelon patches and fishing holes. Seven of the nine holes boast water hazards, making precise shot placement a must.  The Amelia boasts dramatic views from its third tee which rests some 60-70 feet above the green! The Amelia possesses some of the highest points in Lake Sumter Landing and possibly the county. Golfers will really enjoy this rolling and undulating treat of a golf course!  With tee boxes stretching from 5000-7000 yards, golfers of all abilities will be making special golfing memories at the Mallory Hill Country Club!
